Hardware Sales Clerk – Winston

Part Time

This position requires applicant to sell products, provide customer service, inventory control, and recovery of shelves including:

  • Selling of hardware and farm merchandise to our customers.
  • Ring up, carry out, and load hardware/farm related store merchandise.
  • Sell products, provide accurate product information.
  • Answering questions from customers and answering telephones.
  • Maintain a neat and tidy personal appearance and help keep the store neat, clean and organized.


        • Know and use resources necessary to make proper recommendations of products sold.
        • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
        • Ability to learn store prices, products and services.
        • Be able to use a computerized point-of-sale system.
        • Maintain product inventory levels to assure maximum service.
        • Arrange merchandise stock displays and shelves.
        • Maintain a clean and orderly store environment.
        • Greet customers in a friendly manner with a smile and verbal greeting.
        • Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
        • Ability to lift, carry, move, and slide 50 lbs frequently.
        • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.


      • The work schedule will vary from week to week.  We are open 7 days a week and weekend work is to be expected.  The position will work 4 to 8 hours per day, 20 to 30 hours per week.

Inventory Control

Full Time

This position performs accurate DC Co-op on-hand inventory audits by performing cycle counts according to the store layout map and thoroughly researching and controlling Inventory Adjustment activity.  Scan all on hand inventory to establish accurate product counts of all products.  Work in a consistent and productive manner to establish an accurate reliable store inventory.

Job Requirements:

    • Operate computer program with inventory control features, record and print reports,
    • Check figures, posting inventory changes, mathematical accuracy of inventory.
    • Control, update and document store inventory activity including negative on hands, cycle counts and regular store adjustments.
    • Review and validate on hand inventory variances from cashiers and store personnel.
    • Record numerical data and report variances to merchandise managers.
    • Research all count adjustments thoroughly using established standards before finalizing.
    • Perform cycle counts of inventory established within a specific timeframe.
    • Research and complete the daily negative on hand report.
    • Assist with the product receiving process of merchandise, comply with established standards.
    • Effectively respond and interact with back office and merchandise office as required.


  • 2 years of relevant shipping/receiving or inventory control experience.
  • Analyze data from reports.
  • Ability to identify products and locate items by sight.
  • Attention to detail, confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform general math calculations.
  • Ability to interact successfully with customers and co-workers.
  • An aptitude for computer processing.

Shell Cashier

Part Time

This is a part-time cashier for the Shell Convenience Store.  This position requires outstanding customer service skills to greet customers and accurately process checkout of customer transactions.  Prior cashier and deli experience preferred.  There is a job opening on the graveyard shift to work 9:30pm – 7:00am and a job opening on swing shift to work 2:00pm – 10:00pm.

Winston Store Manager

Full Time Position

The Store Manager coaches and trains store personnel to achieve sales goals, as well as to ensure profitability through correct use of store systems/processes. Manages the overall store overseeing operations including customer service and administration; planning and merchandise management, replenishment, product inventory, and loss prevention activities; ensuring friendly, fast and accurate processing of all customer transactions; Is responsible for creating a healthy and positive work environment which drives employee engagement and retention; act as the point of contact for vendors, customers, employees to execute daily merchandising and operational needs.

Essential Duties:

  • Promote sales through quality customer service.
  • Execute merchandising planograms and category assortments.
  • Facilitate the training of all store employees.
  • Oversee incoming inventory and weekly product orders, maintain merchandise in stocks to satisfy customer needs, manage seasonal merchandise changes.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a retail store environment; including cash handling experience and exposure to customer service, store level operations and product sales.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role, including recruitment and associate development, work schedule planning.
  • Knowledge of farm and ranch related product preferred.
  • Experience with lawn & garden, hardware, plumbing, pet supply, and paint preferred.
  • Leadership, management, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends and select Holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use electronic communication devices during all working hours which includes wearing a headset or a device on or in the ear.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly and climb ladders.
  • Ability to stand and move about for extended periods of time with only short rest breaks.
  • Knowledge of Activant/Epicore operating systems preferred

Job Description and Qualifications:

Lifestyle Product Specialist – Grass Cattle, Sheep, Horse & Show Feed Position Purpose:

  • The Lifestyle Product Specialist – Grass Cattle, Sheep, Horse, & Show Feed will focus primarily on; cattle, sheep, horse, show, and lifestyle animal feed sales. This position offers consultative sales techniques which are utilized by calling on lifestyle animal owners within the assigned market area to evaluate and assist them with their nutritional program; the position also involves organizing and conducting effective educational meetings for 4H clubs, saddle clubs, horse enthusiasts, vets, trainers, lifestyle show clubs, etc. to enhance brand image and sell product. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting educational meetings/events, selling events to build store traffic, completing approximately 25 farm calls per week, and annually growing sales and market share in the above categories.

Required (Basic) Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, related field or equivalent experience.

Required Competencies & Other Skills:

  • This Position requires excellent verbal and written communication, focus, along with strong organization and time management skills.
  • This position requires high internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, and leadership in a team environment.
  • Successful candidate should be competent in providing accurate feeding and management recommendations to lifestyle owners in the market serviced.

  • Candidate has strong public speaking skills.
  • Currently is involved with show or horse enthusiasts that have influence in the market.
  • 3-5 years previous experience with cattle feed rations, sales and consulting.
  • Percentage of Travel: 15% over night travel, in addition to daily travel in the assigned geography.
