LEAD CARRY OUT

Full Time

We currently have a full time opening for the Lead Carry-Out position at our Roseburg store.  This person is responsible for the daily carryout of feed and related products for our customers and for providing clear direction to the carry-out team.  Applicants should be able to work well with others while encouraging teamwork in a fast-paced environment that requires constant hustle, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and outstanding customer service skills.

Requirements:

  • Prior retail experience.
  • Experience in team leadership.
  • 6 months forklift experience.
  • Agricultural background with a working knowledge of livestock feeds and grains.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Tasks include:

  • Keeping feed decks organized, stocked, cleaned and free of loose debris.
  • Re-bagging broken and torn bags.
  • Keeping aisles and parking lot clean and clear.
  • Cleaning of restrooms and emptying garbage cans.
  • Repetitive lifting of weight up to 50 pounds with an occasional occurrence of weights that may exceed 300 pounds.
  • Requires that you be able to stoop, bend, twist, kneel, and have considerable flexibility.
  • Requires excellent customer service skills as this person has the last contact with our customer.

The position will work 40 hours per week. The shifts fall between store hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm, the schedule will vary each week to include weekends

Warehouse Worker

Full Time

This is a full-time, benefited position at our main store.  This is a physically demanding position involving the loading of customer orders, bagging bulk fertilizer and loading vehicles with bulk farm supply products while providing excellent customer service to our patrons.

 

Duties:

·         Loading customer orders, picking fence products to complete orders.

·         Loading feed/hay/grain and bagged feed products.

·         Accurate weighing, handling of grass seed mixes. 

·         Hand loading customer orders, to be courteous and friendly to complete order. 

·         Greet customers and load custom feed blends for customers from warehouse and lot products.

·         Assist with providing product information for feed/fertilizer/landscape/fencing/farm products.

·         Keep warehouse and work area neat, clean, and orderly; daily cleaning is required.

·         Performs general maintenance, upkeep and housekeeping of warehouse, outside storage, and buildings maintaining a neat and clean work environment.

·         Exposure to constant dust or airborne particles to be expected.

·         Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, cold, dust, vibration, climb stairs and ladders.

 

Qualifications:

·         Feed/grain/fertilizer/landscape/fencing/farm ranch industry experience preferred.

·         Able to frequently lift 50# bags, bend, stoop, lift, reach, crouch, stand, and climb or balance.

·         Able to climb ladders, stairs, and bins.

·         Clean driving record.

·         6 months forklift experience preferred.

·         Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.

·         Must be able to work independently, and be self-motivated.

·         Must be detail oriented, with good time management and problem solving skills.

·         Must have excellent communication, both verbal and written.

·         Specific vision abilities required to distinguish color, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.  

·         Must be able to sustain exposure to moving mechanical parts and constant dust or airborne particles. 

·         Must pass drug screen.

Convenience Store Cashier – Graveyard

Part Time

We are  currently seeking an experienced cashier to work at our Shell Convenience Store on the graveyard shift from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This position is part-time and will work Monday – Thursday each week including holidays.

This position requires outstanding customer service skills to greet customers and accurately process the checkout of customer transactions in a fast paced environment.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

* Have prior cashier and deli experience.

* Have outstanding customer service skills.

* Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

* Be organized with attention to detail.

* Be neat and clean in appearance.

* Be able to bend, stoop, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

* Must be reliable and have the ability to work a varied schedule.

Mechanic / CDL Driver

Full Time Position

We are seeking a Mechanic/CDL Driver at our Fertilizer/Landscape Facility. This position is responsible for equipment repair and plant maintenance. Will also provide sales support, counter service and answer phone questions for customers.

Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of hydraulics, belts, sprockets and chains.
  • Experience with welding, fabricating, and repair of metal.
  • Experience with small engine, hydraulic hose repair.
  • Must have a Class A CDL with clean driving record.
  • 6 months forklift and front loader experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs.
  • Must maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work environment.
  • Must be motivated and a self-starter.
  • Good phone skills required to answer incoming calls and communicate information as needed to customers.
  • Ability to greet customers in a friendly manner with a smile and verbal greeting.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Job Description and Qualifications:

Lifestyle Product Specialist – Grass Cattle, Sheep, Horse & Show Feed Position Purpose:

  • The Lifestyle Product Specialist – Grass Cattle, Sheep, Horse, & Show Feed will focus primarily on; cattle, sheep, horse, show, and lifestyle animal feed sales. This position offers consultative sales techniques which are utilized by calling on lifestyle animal owners within the assigned market area to evaluate and assist them with their nutritional program; the position also involves organizing and conducting effective educational meetings for 4H clubs, saddle clubs, horse enthusiasts, vets, trainers, lifestyle show clubs, etc. to enhance brand image and sell product. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting educational meetings/events, selling events to build store traffic, completing approximately 25 farm calls per week, and annually growing sales and market share in the above categories.

Required (Basic) Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, related field or equivalent experience.

Required Competencies & Other Skills:

  • This Position requires excellent verbal and written communication, focus, along with strong organization and time management skills.
  • This position requires high internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, and leadership in a team environment.
  • Successful candidate should be competent in providing accurate feeding and management recommendations to lifestyle owners in the market serviced.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, necessary for success.
  • Basic command of nutritional recommendations to beef and various lifestyle owners.
  • Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Experience & Education:

  • Strong background and previous professional experience with Cattle, Equine, Show, or Lifestyle animals, and has competed at a high level with either horse or show animals.

Preferred Competencies & Other Skills:

  • Candidate has strong public speaking skills.
  • Currently is involved with show or horse enthusiasts that have influence in the market.
  • 3-5 years previous experience with cattle feed rations, sales and consulting.
  • Percentage of Travel: 15% over night travel, in addition to daily travel in the assigned geography.
